Lucinda Dovey BSc (Hons) BVSc MRCVS
I am a Veterinary Surgeon who graduated from Liverpool University in 2007 with a Veterinary Science degree, having previously gained a Zoology degree there in 2003.
After a short time in mixed practice, I have worked in first opinion small animal practice ever since in varying roles in day practice,
charity practice, emergency work, sole charge and a management role.
I am a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS).
I have settled in Wiltshire with my young family, dog, cat, rabbit, guinea pigs, chickens, fish and Giant African Land Snails. Having always loved animals, it was my dream to be a vet and the passion to help pets and their owners is alight as ever.
After my own positive and beneficial experiences having human acupuncture, I enrolled on the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists (ABVA) Foundation course in 2013 and Geriatric Dog Course in 2015 and I am a member of the ABVA. I have used acupuncture in daily practice but would like to focus more of my time on this complimentary treatment and to be able to offer it in a homelike environment. As a result, in 2022 I completed the Western Veterinary Acupuncture Group (WVAG) Foundation course to develop my learning and understanding further in the field of acupuncture. Seeing what a fascinating and complex area this is I quickly had a desire to learn more and develop a more holistic approach in caring for my patients.
To that end I have just completed a Chronic Pain Management course in May 2023. With this further knowledge I am setting up a Chronic Pain clinic to help your painful pets live the most comfortable and happy life possible. I plan to go on to do further courses and qualifications to expand my knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain.
